Overview

Keep an inventory of your Google Cloud environment and see what changes between scans. The workflow reads resources and visible IAM policies from the projects you select, reads enabled API states directly from Service Usage, stores history in BigQuery and presents the results in Google Sheets. The dashboard separates workloads and data from APIs, networking, identities, versions and configuration.

Use it to review new, changed or removed resources, broad or public IAM bindings, missing labels and locations outside your policy. Findings are observations to investigate; they do not modify your cloud resources or establish a complete security or compliance assessment.

How it works

You configure the projects to scan and one central project for reporting. On each run, n8n collects their data, evaluates the configured rules and saves a snapshot. The first successful scan establishes a baseline. Later scans compare against a compatible completed snapshot, so the dashboard can show changes over time.

BigQuery keeps the detailed history. Sheets provides the working view, including review checkboxes and notes. Each run also produces HTML and CSV reports; SMTP email summaries are optional.

Before you begin

You need an n8n installation, access to configure Google Cloud APIs and permissions, and a Google account to copy the dashboard. The setup guide explains how to connect these parts. You prepare the identity, access and spreadsheet; the workflow creates its BigQuery dataset, tables and n8n run registry during the first execution.

The projects to scan are entered explicitly. They can be separate from the central reporting project. Google Cloud queries, storage, n8n hosting and optional email delivery may have their own costs.

Workflow and dashboard

Download the v2.2.0 workflow JSON and import it into a new inactive n8n workflow. The template has 51 nodes, including six setup notes, and no usable credentials.

Make your own copy of the Google Sheets dashboard. The shared model contains examples; the workflow will write to your private copy.

Documentation

Start with setup and use the validation guide for the first run. The other guides explain the design, ongoing operation and optional changes.
